SC Atabueira's Idalécio Carrasqueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Idalécio Carrasqueira. That made the score 2-4 in the 79 minute of play. In the 84th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. SC Atabueira's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Josué Campelo, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josué Campelo in the 95th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SC Atabueira.
