After a rather tough play, REAL SUOMI CF's Börje Blom got a free kick in the 3rd minute. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 董响斐 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in REAL SUOMI CF's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. 董响斐 came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 22 played minutes REAL SUOMI CF got a freekick which was hit by Radomir Narbut. When Felix Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. 26 minutes into the match, REAL SUOMI CF's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but 董响斐 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute REAL SUOMI CF were awarded a corner. Karl-Axel Majman went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Karl-Axel Majman almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. 33 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marek Matela. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felix Montenegro in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg 董响斐 saved REAL SUOMI CF from getting behind. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marek Matela during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 46 played minutes REAL SUOMI CF got a freekick which was hit by Marek Matela. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. The supporters of REAL SUOMI CF booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with 董响斐 in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 54th match minute, REAL SUOMI CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 宋克国 to maneuver through the defense. Luis Andino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without 董响斐 having to make a save. REAL SUOMI CF's 董响斐 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 55th minute of play. 董响斐 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 61st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, REAL SUOMI CF's Börje Blom got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute, Börje Blom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 董响斐 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 68th minute, REAL SUOMI CF's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Felix Montenegro fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but 董响斐 made a huge save. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 董响斐 having to interfere. Börje Blom hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After having played for 84 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 93 minutes, Dan Ahlbeck made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
