Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. REAL SUOMI CF's Karl-Axel Majman shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 3rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Julio Vera but with some difficulty. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 董响斐 having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dan Ahlbeck in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised 董响斐. 董响斐 dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 董响斐 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in REAL SUOMI CF's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. 董响斐 came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Dan Ahlbeck got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 22nd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 董响斐 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the REAL SUOMI CF defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of 董响斐. The REAL SUOMI CF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that 董响斐 should have stopped the shot. When REAL SUOMI CF's Dan Ahlbeck in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. REAL SUOMI CF were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Karl-Axel Majman took the corner. The corner ended in Karl-Axel Majman almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. REAL SUOMI CF's 董响斐 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 37th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. 董响斐 breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diogo Madureira in the 70th minute of play. The corner went over the outstretched arms of REAL SUOMI CF's goalie and right to Felix Montenegro. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. REAL SUOMI CF's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Daniel Zorita took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 79th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for 董响斐. REAL SUOMI CF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
