With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iuri de Andrade in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Camilo Freixa saved Bolivia from getting behind. In the 54th match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juarês Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. Eduardo Fontirroig was shown his second yellow card after 57 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Clóvis Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camilo Freixa having to interfere.
