With a little luck, Dibra Fc's Lilko Chervenski got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Lilko Chervenski made a huge save. Lilko Chervenski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 17th minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 18th minute after Dibra Fc's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Dibra Fc's Lilko Chervenski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Dibra Fc from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 21st minute of play forced Dibra Fc's goalkeeper Lilko Chervenski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lilko Chervenski was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Daniel Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Lilko Chervenski made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristian Sancho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lilko Chervenski. That made the score 2-1 in the 26 minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gooitzen Bot in the 29th minute of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Montenegro got free with Lilko Chervenski in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 42nd minute, Daniel Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lilko Chervenski. The goal made the score 3-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gooitzen Bot made a kick off. In the 55thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dibra Fc's Lilko Chervenski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lilko Chervenski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ermanno Bergamini in the 61st minute. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gooitzen Bot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. In the 73rd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Dibra Fc's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Lilko Chervenski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 77th minute of play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gooitzen Bot in the 85th minute. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 89 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lilko Chervenski was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 94 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. If Ermanno Bergamini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 95th minute, when Marin Hénin scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 5-2.
