When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Bertil Ekman sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The supporters of White Hart Lane booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball. Supreme Back's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st match minute, White Hart Lane was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olle Ekström to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Esbjörn Apelquist was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. In the 34th minute, Bertil Ekman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bertil Ekman in the 39th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bertil Ekman in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

In the 53rd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esbjörn Apelquist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esbjörn Apelquist having to interfere. Bertil Ekman scored 4-0 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of White Hart Lane booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th minute Bertil Ekman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bertil Ekman in the 71st minute of the match. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Esbjörn Apelquist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bertil Ekman, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After 86 played minutes White Hart Lane got a freekick which was hit by Lennart Blomquist. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 87th minute. Jonathan Venegas kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Supreme Back struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for White Hart Lane. White Hart Lane were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Venezuela for a fine match.
