Zigrīds Paupers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zigrīds Paupers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Tabb Bornes's late challenge caught a Chile's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tabb Bornes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 10th minute, Tabb Bornes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the BumboTava defense, Mariano Lacasa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zigrīds Paupers. The BumboTava fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zigrīds Paupers should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Gerardo Pozo hit a great ball. Mariano Lacasa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zigrīds Paupers having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rūdolfs Blaumanis during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rūdolfs Blaumanis hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xoan Huguet in the 22nd minute of play. After 26 played minutes BumboTava got a freekick which was hit by Tabb Bornes. With an all-out effort, BumboTava's Thiago Pliego threw himself towards the right post 29 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Xoan Huguet, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vents Ovdaks in the 31st minute of play. Zigrīds Paupers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zigrīds Paupers having to make a save. 46 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zigrīds Paupers. BumboTava's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lacasa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xoan Huguet was the one to do the kick off. Zigrīds Paupers was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Mariano Lacasa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mariano Lacasa really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. 56 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zigrīds Paupers. BumboTava's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience was convinced that Tabb Bornes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Pliego was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 73rd minute of play forced BumboTava's goalkeeper Zigrīds Paupers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa notched a goal, 1-6, to the right of BumboTava's Zigrīds Paupers. Zigrīds Paupers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Chile's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
