Joakim Bergsten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jens-Erik Nykvist during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Joakim Bergsten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 44th minute of play forced Henley Utd's goalkeeper Edvin Jonsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joakim Bergsten made a kick off. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wesley Van Hoojdonk in the 75th minute. Edvin Jonsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 80th minute of play. After 88 minutes of play, Peru's Julian Murillo made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edvin Jonsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Henley Utd for a fine match.
