Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edvard Slæggerup went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 40 minutes into the match, Gabbro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Alessandro Mancinelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, Edvard Slæggerup had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edvard Slæggerup was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. Eraldo Albani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Fedele Di Prinzio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edvard Slæggerup in the 60th minute of play. If Edvard Slæggerup had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicholas Langsford in the 92nd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Edvard Slæggerup came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Gabbro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edvard Slæggerup couldn't finish the play. 96 minutes into the game, Gabbro FC's Edvard Slæggerup nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
