In the 18th minute, Gerardo Florin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Camilo Gisbert got a free kick in the 21st minute. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerardo Florin, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ruperto Platon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A hard shot 42 in the game by Juan Sebastián Puig from a close distance when the talented Ruperto Platon managed to make a qualified save. GrondofiSu FC's players were relieved. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 51st minute of play forced GrondofiSu FC's goalkeeper Ruperto Platon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to GrondofiSu FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Enrique Ramirez hit a great ball. In the 66th minute, Mauro Nevada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruperto Platon having to interfere. GrondofiSu FC's Ruperto Platon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 72nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ruperto Platon saved GrondofiSu FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 76th minute of play forced GrondofiSu FC's goalkeeper Ruperto Platon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Ruperto Platon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. GrondofiSu FC's Ruperto Platon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 79th minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruperto Platon having to interfere. Ruperto Platon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 84th minute of the match. 87 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Ruperto Platon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Daniel Zorita put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Ruperto Platon. There was no doubt that Ecuador were the better team. Ecuador's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
