Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 4th minute. Edvard Slæggerup sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Gabbro FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 21 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. In the 27th minute, Tomas Illescas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alessandro Mancinelli was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Edvard Slæggerup fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. A collision led to Gabbro FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Cemil Tanacan hit a great ball. In the 36th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Chicote to maneuver through the defense. In the 39thth minute of the game Edvard Slæggerup who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 40th minute Gabbro FC were awarded a corner. Wieslaw Wawro went to the cornerflag to take it. After 46 played minutes Gabbro FC got a freekick which was hit by Cemil Tanacan. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edvard Slæggerup to make the kick off. In a very dangerous position, a player in Gabbro FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 57th minute. Penalty! Alessandro Mancinelli had in the 58thth minute some difficulties stopping Tomas Illescas's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 62 minutes into the game, Alex Chicote was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gabbro FC the free kick. After 62 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Alex Chicote. Edvard Slæggerup might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edvard Slæggerup ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Gabbro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edvard Slæggerup didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cemil Tanacan kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Guillermo Mariano kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Edvard Slæggerup sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
