One of 20 DE SETEMBRO:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mexico:s goal. After some careless play in the 20 DE SETEMBRO defense, Alberto Tafalla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benê Goiano. The 20 DE SETEMBRO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benê Goiano should have stopped the shot. Benê Goiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 17th minute of the match. Benê Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 21 minutes, Dante Lacasa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 22nd minute 20 DE SETEMBRO were awarded a corner. Emílio Diniz went to the cornerflag to take it. 25 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Erling Franks came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Facundo Cadaval to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Gaona in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benê Goiano saved 20 DE SETEMBRO from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Joel Gaona put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Benê Goiano. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erling Franks, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Alberto Tafalla ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benê Goiano was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. 47 minutes into the game, Joel Gaona cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Benê Goiano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benê Goiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 53 minutes 20 DE SETEMBRO's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. Joel Gaona made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that 20 DE SETEMBRO's Benê Goiano managed to reach the ball for a save. 58 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Iztal Marisancena came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Gaona scored 1-6 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benê Goiano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 63rd minute, Luca Rouco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iztal Marisancena in the 66th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in 20 DE SETEMBRO's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benê Goiano came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benê Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the match, 20 DE SETEMBRO's goal looked a bit too open when Facundo Cadaval came free, but Benê Goiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Maurinho Tróia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Iztal Marisancena came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Rouco to maneuver through the defense. 20 DE SETEMBRO made a substitution. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Nóbrega in the 88th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Orlando Nóbrega had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Orlando Nóbrega was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-7. After 95 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Joel Gaona. Orlando Nóbrega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Orlando Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
