Sebastián Sosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Sebastián Sosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 14th minute of play. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vikingos FC's goalkeeper Sebastián Sosa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vladimiro Lauro got free with Rolando Noboa in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 54th minute, Luz Tejedor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sebastián Sosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 56th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Milagros Fraga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sebastián Sosa. Vikingos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Milagros Fraga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ladislao Erramu in the 65th minute of the match. Sebastián Sosa made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. In the 70th minute of the match, Eliseo Mina tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sebastián Sosa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Milagros Fraga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastián Sosa having to interfere. Vikingos FC made a substitution. Luciano Lleir replaced Per-Olof Vallmark. With a little luck, Vikingos FC's Sebastián Sosa got control of the ball when Luz Tejedor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sebastián Sosa made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. Marek Torm might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rolando Noboa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marek Torm ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Peru booed when Vikingos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arsenio Manuelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 95 played minutes Vikingos FC got a freekick which was hit by Arsenio Manuelo. Wilhelm Widberg kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. 97 minutes into the match, Vikingos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Mina came free, but Sebastián Sosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anthony Alvarado kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. In the 100th minute Ladislao Erramu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
