Peru's Eliseo Mina got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. İZMİR&GS's Seb Argent was substituted for Antônio Furtado. Julianda Rakasiwi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Rolando Noboa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 35 minutes into the game, Baldomiro Martino threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Alonso Berganza quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Erman Özmert in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Baldomiro Martino hit a great ball. 62 minutes into the match, İZMİR&GS's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Gökçen Safa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Baldomiro Martino in the 64th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Alonso Berganza. Gökçen Safa didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 68th minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. Gökçen Safa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gökçen Safa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Peru eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
