Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Estevão Reis in the 7th minute of the match. In the 34th minute of the game Emmanuel Reyes made a throw-in which Milagros Fraga played forward. If Milagros Fraga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Burak Orkan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egun Zapico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julian Murillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julian Murillo to strike the kick off in the second half. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peru's Julian Murillo got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ronaldo Messi hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match.
