The supporters of Peru booed when ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldo Messi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luz Tejedor, 6 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 11 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Burak Orkan who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Burak Orkan got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rolando Noboa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Julian Murillo sped through ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Egun Zapico. A sloppy throw-in by Burak Orkan in the 17th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Alonso Berganza. After a rather tough play, Peru's Alonso Berganza got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Estevão Reis in the 25th minute of play. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egun Zapico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute Estevão Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. Egun Zapico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Egun Zapico showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's goalkeeper Egun Zapico, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 56th minute, ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's Boğaç Çelikoz dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. If Milagros Fraga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's Mehmet Hakkı Kuthan was substituted for Estevão Reis. Eliseo Mina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Egun Zapico breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 73 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Egun Zapico. ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julian Murillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's Egun Zapico played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 76th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 80th minute of play forced ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's goalkeeper Egun Zapico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Egun Zapico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 81st minute of play. Erkan Fişek received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rolando Noboa came out and tried to block the shot, but Erkan Fişek slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 83rd minute. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Mehmet Hakkı Kuthan tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's zone, Rafael Gallo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Egun Zapico came out of the goal and Rafael Gallo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Despite being the better team, Peru failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
