In the 26th minute of the game Fabian Mihuț made a throw-in which Augustin Vergulescu played forward. 28 minutes into the match, Costel Ţintă notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Walter Zenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 33rd minute of the match. Alex Vrânceanu hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 37th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. 38 minutes into the match, Scorpions -MM-'s Dan Tinu broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 42ndth minute of the game Costel Ţintă who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Dan Tinu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Dan Tinu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alex Vrânceanu during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Scorpions -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Vrânceanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Traian Uzuneanu couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costel Ţintă in the 65th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Salvador Gisbert in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Walter Zenga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When %teams%'s Joshua Secada was free in front of goal, he didn't hesitate to shoot 2-1 just inside the left pole, 70 minutes into the game. Walter Zenga was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Costel Ţintă in the 73rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Fabian Mihuț fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Scorpions -MM-'s protests and gave Fabian Mihuț a yellow card for diving instead.
