Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tom Misaki started the match with the kick off. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heigo Luiga in the 4th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, C.A.Independiente's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Heigo Luiga, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Tom Misaki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Buford Lim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camilo Gisbert got a throw-in 14 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Juan Sebastián Puig. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Buford Lim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 22 minutes C.A.Independiente's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Felix Montes heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Buford Lim came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 30 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Tom Misaki came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Buford Lim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Buford Lim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 38th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heigo Luiga in the 40th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when C.A.Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nereo Frederico didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Buford Lim having to interfere.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes C.A.Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Heigo Luiga. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Misaki in the 55th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Buford Lim came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristian Sancho slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 57th minute. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Heigo Luiga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. In the 68th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Buford Lim was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 73 minutes into the match, C.A.Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Buford Lim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Buford Lim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tom Misaki in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Misaki in the 86th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Buford Lim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 93 minutes into the game, Tom Misaki cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than C.A.Independiente.
