Cacomixtles de Queretaro's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Hüsnü Hürsel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Cacomixtles de Queretaro's Serafin Ugaitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 10th minute of play. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Serafin Ugaitz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 18th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Cacomixtles de Queretaro's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 24th minute of play forced Cacomixtles de Queretaro's goalkeeper Serafin Ugaitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 32 minutes into the match, Cacomixtles de Queretaro's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Serafin Ugaitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Cacomixtles de Queretaro's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Serafin Ugaitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Serafin Ugaitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 41st minute of the match. Serafin Ugaitz came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

52 minutes into the game, Hüsnü Hürsel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cacomixtles de Queretaro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 52nd match minute, Cacomixtles de Queretaro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hüsnü Hürsel to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Cacomixtles de Queretaro getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Lech Harbaszewski hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cacomixtles de Queretaro's Severino Che was substituted for Hüsnü Hürsel. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute, Roland Nieruchliwy made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. 63 minutes into the match, Cacomixtles de Queretaro's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Serafin Ugaitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Serafin Ugaitz firmly grabbed it by the left post. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Serafin Ugaitz made a huge save. The attack was good, but when Luis Andino in the 72nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. With a little luck, Cacomixtles de Queretaro's Serafin Ugaitz got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Serafin Ugaitz made a huge save. Cacomixtles de Queretaro made a substitution. Osvaldo Lluis replaced Atilano Chorache. In the 80th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. Felix Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 85th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. In the 88th minute, Gustav Sefastsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Cacomixtles de Queretaro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victoriano Santio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 93 played minutes Cacomixtles de Queretaro got a freekick which was hit by Generoso Semeno. In the 94th minute, Gustav Sefastsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cacomixtles de Queretaro throughout the match.
