Dorival Abreu made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Aírton Oliveira sent off a good shot on target. Wilson Bezerra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dorival Abreu having to make a save. Karaboudjan's Aírton Oliveira was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 17th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Karaboudjan's Wilton de Amaral was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 22nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Evaristo Tolino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorival Abreu having to interfere. Wilton de Amaral's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 27thth minute, Dorival Abreu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 28 minutes, Paulo Faria mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Coritiba City and the Karaboudjan players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 28th minute, Paulo Faria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilton de Amaral got free with Dorival Abreu in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Coritiba City's Dorival Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Tolino in the 33rd minute of play. Karaboudjan's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Wilton de Amaral in the 34th minute. A nice corner shot did that Wilton de Amaral got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dorival Abreu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, Coritiba City's Cauan Cunha got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute, Célio Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evaristo Tolino succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-1 in the 39th playminute. Augusto Freire scored 3-2 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elano Travassos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Faria in the 51st minute of play forced Karaboudjan's goalkeeper Elano Travassos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Evaristo Tolino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dorival Abreu was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Cássio Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Aírton Oliveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Karaboudjan fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when Karaboudjan's Wilton de Amaral looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Karaboudjan were awarded a corner in the 65th minute after Coritiba City's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Wilton de Amaral took the corner. The corner led Karaboudjan's Wilton de Amaral to fire away a dangerous shot which Dorival Abreu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some careless play in the Coritiba City defense, Wilton de Amaral kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dorival Abreu. The Coritiba City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dorival Abreu should have stopped the shot. 74 minutes into the match, Coritiba City's goal looked a bit too open when Aírton Oliveira came free, but Dorival Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aírton Oliveira in the 77th minute of play forced Coritiba City's goalkeeper Dorival Abreu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute Aírton Oliveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dorival Abreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dorival Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilton de Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dorival Abreu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Evaristo Tolino's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. 87 minutes into the match, Coritiba City's goal looked a bit too open when Wilton de Amaral came free, but Dorival Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute, Wilton de Amaral left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Karaboudjan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-2. Aírton Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 94 minutes into the match, Coritiba City's goal looked a bit too open when Wilton de Amaral came free, but Dorival Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There was no doubt that Karaboudjan were the better team. Karaboudjan's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
