With his leg Pedrão Sarmento managed to avoid a goal in the 7thth minute, when SAO JOANENSE FC's Eriberto Vaz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 10 minutes into the match, SAO JOANENSE FC's goal looked a bit too open when Diogo Bueno came free, but José do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Filipe de Amorim's late challenge caught a Vista Alegre FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filipe de Amorim helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Vista Alegre FC booed when SAO JOANENSE FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe de Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. José do Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamim Sampaio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hortêncio Senna scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José do Vale, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hortêncio Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. José do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José do Vale didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Diogo Bueno went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. José do Vale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hortêncio Senna's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Rafinha Furlan was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 42 minutes into the match. After 41 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SAO JOANENSE FC! In the 45th minute there was a penalty for Vista Alegre FC. Dráuzio de Alcântara stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving José do Vale. 0-4.

In the 52nd minute, Hortêncio Senna reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of José do Vale. The goal made the score 0-5. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind SAO JOANENSE FC's goalkeeper José do Vale, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the SAO JOANENSE FC defense, Diogo Bueno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José do Vale. The SAO JOANENSE FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José do Vale should have stopped the shot. 59 minutes into the game, Vista Alegre FC's Hortêncio Senna nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. José do Vale made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. José do Vale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hortêncio Senna in the 74th minute. After having played for 75 minutes, Wiliam Matorin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SAO JOANENSE FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wiliam Matorin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José do Vale was a little too slow when Hortêncio Senna got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 84th minute. The score was now 0-9. Hortêncio Senna's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 94thth minute, José do Vale skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 95th minute, one of SAO JOANENSE FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SAO JOANENSE FC. The SAO JOANENSE FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Vista Alegre FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
