Coritiba Foot Ball Club's attentive Jonas Velloso managed to snatch the ball when Jonathan Trigo made a throw-in in the 8th minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Thiago Machado put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Pedrão Sarmento. The crowd rose to their feet as Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Thiago Machado slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pedrão Sarmento. That made the score 2-0 after 14 minutes of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 16th minute of the game. One of Vista Alegre FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Coritiba Foot Ball Club:s goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thiago Machado in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedrão Sarmento prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 22nd minute Zé Paulo de Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durval Messias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedrão Sarmento made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Thiago Machado sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Thiago Machado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedrão Sarmento was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hortêncio Senna made a kick off. Coritiba Foot Ball Club walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
