In the 14th minute, Antônio Carlos Valadares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ulysses Romero hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Rômulo Sampaio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Antônio Carlos Valadares went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Olivedos's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Elder Mattos in the 25th minute. The corner ended in Elder Mattos almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SAO JOANENSE FC's Rômulo Sampaio did a great save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Deivid Cavalcante in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rômulo Sampaio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of SAO JOANENSE FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Olivedos:s goal. The referee gave Olivedos a penalty, 34 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Deivid Cavalcante, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SAO JOANENSE FC's Rômulo Sampaio. 0-3. Rômulo Sampaio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dário Viana's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. When Olivedos's Antônio Carlos Valadares in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Gugu da Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Olivedos's Elder Mattos broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A collision led to Olivedos getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Albertinho Cavalcante hit a great ball. Rômulo Sampaio made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Antônio Carlos Valadares sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 70 minutes, Antônio Carlos Valadares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Olivedos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antônio Carlos Valadares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
