Emílio da Silva made in the 39th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Giovani Sergipano immediately put the ball in play. Claudinho Velasco hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Osmar Rosario scored 2-0 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edmílson Britto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 49 minutes into the game, Osmar Rosario recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Edmílson Britto. Osmar Rosario showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.
