When Rogério Chaves fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vista Alegre FC's protests and gave Rogério Chaves a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Karaboudjan booed when Vista Alegre FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogério Chaves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedrão Sarmento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizão Peixoto, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Karaboudjan's Jefferson do Vale proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Karaboudjan from getting a goal against them. Norberto de Azevedo in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Vista Alegre FC's zone, Luizão Peixoto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedrão Sarmento came out of the goal and Luizão Peixoto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedrão Sarmento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laerte Coutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luizão Peixoto in the 61st minute of play forced Vista Alegre FC's goalkeeper Pedrão Sarmento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luizão Peixoto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Pedrão Sarmento made a huge save. A collision led to Vista Alegre FC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Régis Barros hit a great ball. Pedrão Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilton de Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedrão Sarmento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. During the 91st minute of the match Rogério Chaves completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Rogério Chaves a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 92nd match minute, Vista Alegre FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogério Chaves to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Karaboudjan players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
