The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. José do Vale came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Coritiba Foot Ball Club's 胡亦旭. But to his dismay, 胡亦旭 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Tadeo Estefan kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Angelo Magalhães might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Durval Messias. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Angelo Magalhães ran back to his position shaking his head. José do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Garro, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cacá Britovskiy in the 10th minute of play forced SAO JOANENSE FC's goalkeeper José do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 13th play minutes Rodrigo Garro shot 0-2, a short shot which went by José do Vale and just under the crossbar into goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodrigo Garro in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José do Vale saved SAO JOANENSE FC from getting behind. After 16 minutes, Rodrigo Garro made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. SAO JOANENSE FC's José do Vale tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Rodrigo Garro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. José do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Rodrigo Garro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José do Vale was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. After some careless play in the SAO JOANENSE FC defense, Rodrigo Garro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José do Vale. The SAO JOANENSE FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José do Vale should have stopped the shot. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's 胡亦旭 got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Rodrigo Garro in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SAO JOANENSE FC's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 41 minutes, Rodrigo Garro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodrigo Garro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 43rd minute Rodrigo Garro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the SAO JOANENSE FC defense, Rodrigo Garro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José do Vale. The SAO JOANENSE FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José do Vale should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-8 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eriberto Vaz made a kick off. Cacá Britovskiy blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José do Vale having to make a save. José do Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cacá Britovskiy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 52 minutes into the game, Angelo Magalhães was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SAO JOANENSE FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coritiba Foot Ball Club the free kick. 53 minutes into the game, Cacá Britovskiy cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-9. José do Vale was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. José do Vale didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Léo Nascimento went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-10 was the resulting score. The Coritiba Foot Ball Club fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Rodrigo Garro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-11 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 68 minutes into the match, 胡亦旭 had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José do Vale. SAO JOANENSE FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 胡亦旭 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-13. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Rodrigo Garro put it in 0-14 from a short distance just to the right of José do Vale. In the 78th minute Cacá Britovskiy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 胡亦旭 took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José do Vale. José do Vale dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-15. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, 胡亦旭 took a quick shot and it went in 0-16 without a chance for José do Vale to make any attempt to save it. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, 胡亦旭 took a quick shot and it went in 0-17 without a chance for José do Vale to make any attempt to save it. José do Vale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodrigo Garro's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. José do Vale stood somewhat misplaced when Rodrigo Garro came free in front of goal and shot 0-18 to the left of him in the 90 minute. José do Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Garro in the 93rd minute of play. SAO JOANENSE FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 94th minute, when 胡亦旭 scored to the left of an out of position José do Vale, making the score, 0-19. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
