Rômulo Sampaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SAO JOANENSE FC's Rômulo Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Gustavo Braga in the 25th minute of play. Rômulo Sampaio made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Doriva Koehler sent off a good shot on target. Rômulo Sampaio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Gustavo Braga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luizão Ferraz kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Celsinho Vander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Augusto Messias, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. SAO JOANENSE FC:s Rômulo Sampaio showed great skill when he stopped Doriva Koehler:s penalty. After a defensive mix-up in AFC - Curitiba's zone, Angelo Magalhães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celsinho Vander came out of the goal and Angelo Magalhães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. AFC - Curitiba's Celsinho Vander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baltazar Lago in the 44th minute of play. Celsinho Vander came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by SAO JOANENSE FC's Baltazar Lago. But to his dismay, Baltazar Lago quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedrinho Lara was the one to do the kick off. Baltazar Lago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celsinho Vander having to interfere. Renato Vianna's late challenge caught a AFC - Curitiba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Renato Vianna helped the player get up and apologised. After 65 played minutes SAO JOANENSE FC got a freekick which was hit by Renato Vianna. Rômulo Sampaio was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. AFC - Curitiba's Celsinho Vander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrinho Lara in the 82nd minute of play. Allan Furlan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Gustavo Braga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rômulo Sampaio having to make a save. In the 98thth minute of the game Luiz Gustavo Braga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SAO JOANENSE FC's Rômulo Sampaio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The AFC - Curitiba support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
