The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rômulo Sampaio was a little too slow when Glauco Mesquita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 11th minute. The score was now 2-0. In the 13th minute, Pedrinho Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rafinha Furlan's late challenge caught a LRCA Office Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rafinha Furlan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th match minute, SAO JOANENSE FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafinha Furlan to maneuver through the defense. Rômulo Sampaio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fábio Mandrak in the 16th minute of the match. Juninho França charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juninho França the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SAO JOANENSE FC booed when LRCA Office Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juninho França didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 19 minutes of play, SAO JOANENSE FC's Pedrinho Lara made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Giovanni Cearense was left in no man's land by his defense there! Giovanni Cearense came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by SAO JOANENSE FC's João Augusto Messias. But to his dismay, João Augusto Messias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltazar Lago in the 28th minute of play forced LRCA Office Club's goalkeeper Giovanni Cearense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Rômulo Sampaio successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. SAO JOANENSE FC's Rômulo Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glauco Mesquita in the 34th minute of play. Glauco Mesquita succeeded in the game's 35th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-2. 38 minutes into the match, Toke Chute had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rômulo Sampaio. SAO JOANENSE FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Toke Chute was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. Giovanni Cearense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Augusto Messias in the 41st minute of play. When Glauco Mesquita fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LRCA Office Club's protests and gave Glauco Mesquita a yellow card for diving instead. In the 42nd minute, Glauco Mesquita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th minute Baltazar Lago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovanni Cearense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Baltazar Lago stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Glauco Mesquita might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rômulo Sampaio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Glauco Mesquita ran back to his position shaking his head. Luís Eduardo Quadros hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Juninho França scored 5-2 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rômulo Sampaio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rômulo Sampaio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Glauco Mesquita, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Giovanni Cearense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedrinho Lara in the 87th minute of the match. After 87 played minutes LRCA Office Club got a freekick which was hit by Josué Mangueira. LRCA Office Club's Giovanni Cearense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save LRCA Office Club from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as SAO JOANENSE FC's Pedrinho Lara slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Giovanni Cearense. That made the score 5-3 after 94 minutes of play. LRCA Office Club were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of SAO JOANENSE FC for a fine match.
