Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Marcel Abreu got the match started through his kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Curiphila Eagles's zone, Marcel Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Murilo Paiva came out of the goal and Marcel Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcel Abreu in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Murilo Paiva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Curiphila Eagles getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Nelsinho Bastos hit a great ball. If Leopoldo Sanches had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Leopoldo Sanches's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Murilo Paiva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's zone, Nelsinho Bastos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Ángel Ortiz came out of the goal and Nelsinho Bastos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Murilo Paiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcel Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. When Ladislao Mazurkiewicz fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's protests and gave Ladislao Mazurkiewicz a yellow card for diving instead. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Curiphila Eagles's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Mazurkiewicz came free, but Murilo Paiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Cacá de Almeida fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Curiphila Eagles's protests and gave Cacá de Almeida a yellow card for diving instead. Cacá de Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Marcel Abreu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Murilo Paiva was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Nelsinho Bastos came free with the goalkeeper in the 37th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Miguel Ángel Ortiz could save by the left post. After 39 minutes S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Caco Rosa who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Caco Rosa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Miguel Ángel Ortiz did a great save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nelsinho Bastos to make the kick off. When Nelsinho Bastos fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Curiphila Eagles's protests and gave Nelsinho Bastos a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Curiphila Eagles getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Nelsinho Bastos hit a great ball. Túlio Negri hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Nelsinho Bastos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Curiphila Eagles's supporters rose to their feet, but Nelsinho Bastos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 69 played minutes Curiphila Eagles got a freekick which was hit by Cacá de Almeida. With an all-out effort, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Murilo Paiva threw himself towards the right post 73 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marcel Abreu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Curiphila Eagles getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Nelsinho Bastos hit a great ball. 0-3 became the score in the 82nd minute when Marcel Abreu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 88th minute Nelsinho Bastos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Ángel Ortiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the game, Caco Rosa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Curiphila Eagles's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.E.R. Caxias do Sul the free kick. Caco Rosa kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
