After taking down the ball on AYAZAĞA FK's corner Muzafer Cannavaro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marco Day quite easily take care of the ball. The throw-in from Diego Bradley in the 16th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by AYAZAĞA FK's Kemalettin Keskiner. Berke Gümüşsoy took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marco Day. Marco Day dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Adulfo Antunez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cassius Byrne in the 22nd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Berke Gümüşsoy had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marco Day. USA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Berke Gümüşsoy was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Adulfo Antunez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. A nice corner shot did that Monty Rogers got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Adulfo Antunez quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.
