Mira Sintra's João Brites played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Facundo Cadaval in the 3rd minute of play. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 11th minute after Mira Sintra's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. In the 12th minute, Joel Gaona made a precise shot to the right of João Brites. Mira Sintra's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Thanks to some nice moves 秦浩洲 could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Dante Lacasa however easily saved by the left post. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 24 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Brites saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mira Sintra's goalie prevented a goal. In the 32nd minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Brites saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Brites made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Mexico's Joel Gaona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. João Brites made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2.

The wind increased when Amauri van Beek made the kick off in the second half. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amauri van Beek in the 52nd minute of play. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vicente Taveira in the 61st minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Brites was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Joel Gaona capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Joel Gaona really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. In the 85th minute of the match, Lautaro Mancebo got a very nice opportunity to score, but João Brites was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 87th minute, Mateo Rusin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Lautaro Mancebo hit a great ball. After 92 played minutes Mira Sintra got a freekick which was hit by Claudemiro Peixoto. Lautaro Mancebo struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. João Brites didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. After 95 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Luca Rouco.
