Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The supporters of PROTON F.C. booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th minute, Aníbal Veliz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlo Báez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aníbal Veliz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Raymundo Arbildo made in the 53rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Luis Alberto Dagnino. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Mistral in the 56th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Taka Levidze in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tomas Illescas's late challenge caught a PROTON F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomas Illescas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 63rd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Illescas to maneuver through the defense. Venezuela were furious when Camilo Gaos was red carded, 64 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Marco Mistral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 75 minutes into the game, Marco Mistral cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 80th minute, Marco Mistral made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0.
