After having played for 16 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Green Zombies's Harun Mustafa, in the 21st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Green Zombies. 24 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Zsigmond Tímár came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mexico's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Venedikt Semenov was slow to take the kick. During this time Green Zombies's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Venedikt Semenov got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dante Lacasa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zsigmond Tímár, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Walter Carter sent off a good shot on target. 32 minutes into the match, Walter Carter had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Walter Carter was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After 47 minutes, Luca Rouco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mexico and the Green Zombies players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 48th minute of the match Venedikt Semenov sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dante Lacasa skillfully saved the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zsigmond Tímár made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zsigmond Tímár in the 52nd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a free kick in the 55th minute. Venedikt Semenov took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dante Lacasa. Mexico's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee ignored Green Zombies's protests and gave Edoardo Schiacciacasse a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Green Zombies getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Edoardo Schiacciacasse hit a great ball. Cristinel Tomulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Zsigmond Tímár scored 2-4 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Green Zombies's Mihály Hidegkúti was substituted for Zsigmond Tímár. Green Zombies's Cristinel Tomulescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Green Zombies from getting a goal against them. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihály Hidegkúti in the 81st minute of the match. 86 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Harun Mustafa came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
