An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 3rd minute of play forced Kisgyőr.F.C.'s goalkeeper István Gerencsér to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kisgyőr.F.C.'s András Nemes shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 9th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Julio Vera but with some difficulty. In the 10th minute of the match Kisgyőr.F.C. got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. András Nemes ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 13 minutes of play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. István Gerencsér was left in no man's land by his defense there! István Gerencsér made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 19th minute of play. István Gerencsér showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Daniel Zorita put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of István Gerencsér. After having played for 33 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Elemér Sárosi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kisgyőr.F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Elemér Sárosi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. István Gerencsér tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Felix Montenegro made a precise shot to the right of István Gerencsér. Kisgyőr.F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. When Felix Montes fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Felix Montes a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 44 minutes, János Udvarhelyi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kisgyőr.F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but János Udvarhelyi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Kisgyőr.F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dénes Szűcs didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and János Udvarhelyi made a kick off. István Gerencsér made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 56th minute. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elemér Sárosi in the 57th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. István Gerencsér didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised István Gerencsér. István Gerencsér dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by András Nemes in the 81st minute of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from János Udvarhelyi in the 82nd minute of play. Elemér Sárosi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Kisgyőr.F.C.'s István Gerencsér proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Kisgyőr.F.C. from getting a goal against them. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Kisgyőr.F.C. throughout the match.
