Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. Călin Ghioncu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 9th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Călin Ghioncu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jose Manzanedo fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chile's protests and gave Jose Manzanedo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th minute, one of Chile:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chile. Thiago Pliego had in the 18thth minute some difficulties stopping Teobald Karanewski's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 26thth minute of the game Teobald Karanewski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chile's Thiago Pliego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Orlando Casaus hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Carpathians's Călin Ghioncu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Carpathians from getting a goal against them. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teobald Karanewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Călin Ghioncu having to make a save. In the 49th minute of the match Chile got a corner. Carpathians's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mariano Lacasa made a great header on Chile's corner, it was just that Carpathians's Călin Ghioncu managed to reach the ball for a save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After some careless play in the Chile defense, Teobald Karanewski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego. In the 63rd minute Teobald Karanewski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teobald Karanewski in the 69th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Călin Ghioncu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mariano Lacasa's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Călin Ghioncu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Carpathians made a substitution. Stefan Dobay replaced Teobald Karanewski. If Stefan Dobay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stefan Dobay in the 83rd minute of play. Stefan Dobay was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 84th minute. Carpathians's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The supporters of Chile booed when Carpathians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefan Dobay didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Mariano Lacasa came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Chile fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mariano Lacasa couldn't finish the play. Thiago Pliego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stefan Dobay's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. 95 minutes had been played when some careless play by Chile's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rodrigo Marinho was slow to take the kick. During this time Carpathians's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Rodrigo Marinho got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Thiago Pliego quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Although Chile had been in control for most of the match, Carpathians still came away with the win.
