After 3 minutes, Cassius Byrne made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. CA Juventud Unida's Emil Arendarski tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Monty Rogers in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emil Arendarski saved CA Juventud Unida from getting behind. USA were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after CA Juventud Unida's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cassius Byrne took the corner. The audience thought a goal was coming when Saverio Petrigai got free with Marco Day in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 18 minutes into the match, USA's goalkeeper Marco Day had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rainer Marthaler. If Jesús Banana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Saverio Petrigai kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marco Day. That made the score 1-1 in the 24 minute of play. In the 30th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emil Arendarski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emil Arendarski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cassius Byrne, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

CA Juventud Unida's Witomir Milko was substituted for Albano Argider. The wind increased when Rainer Marthaler made the kick off in the second half. CA Juventud Unida's Emil Arendarski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save CA Juventud Unida from getting a goal against them. CA Juventud Unida's Emil Arendarski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save CA Juventud Unida from getting a goal against them. USA made a substitution. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. Sam Campbell's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Emil Arendarski firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 77th minute, Zach Harrison hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 84th minute of the match CA Juventud Unida got a corner. USA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Clodoveo Hanni ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Witomir Milko fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CA Juventud Unida's protests and gave Witomir Milko a yellow card for diving instead. In the 85th minute, Witomir Milko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sam Campbell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Emil Arendarski made a huge save. Saverio Petrigai's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Day read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Khalid Parry in the 91st minute of play forced CA Juventud Unida's goalkeeper Emil Arendarski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. USA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
