But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Berganza couldn't finish the play. Godfredo Valentine kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristobal Felipo having to interfere. After 27 minutes, Dylan Sarmiento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Panama and the ZarA A.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 27th minute, Dylan Sarmiento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abraham Alguacil struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Cristobal Felipo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panama. Cristobal Felipo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 32nd minute of play. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rareș Feraru in the 33rd minute of play. After 35 played minutes ZarA A.C got a freekick which was hit by Rareș Feraru. In the 36th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristobal Felipo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristobal Felipo having to interfere. In the 45thth minute of the game Tomas Berganza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ZarA A.C's Cristobal Felipo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 46th minute, Tomas Berganza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Berganza was the one to do the kick off. Godfredo Valentine's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Godfredo Valentine helped the player get up and apologised. After 50 played minutes ZarA A.C got a freekick which was hit by Godfredo Valentine. ZarA A.C's Cristobal Felipo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 51st minute of play. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rareș Feraru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 59th minute of play forced ZarA A.C's goalkeeper Cristobal Felipo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute, Rareș Feraru left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ZarA A.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. A collision led to ZarA A.C getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. James Gordon hit a great ball. The supporters of Panama booed when ZarA A.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nazar Mellon didn't get a good kick on the ball. 84 minutes into the game, Martín Palermo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Marcos Cotilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of ZarA A.C booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidoro Sarmiento didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Tomas Berganza fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Panama's protests and gave Tomas Berganza a yellow card for diving instead. After 93 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Berganza. Panama's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because ZarA A.C had won, even though Panama had held more of the ball.
