Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Who Ate All Depay's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Falco Pruischer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wen Bo Yang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Who Ate All Depay's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tor-Egil Gjertsen in the 15th minute. Falco Pruischer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Who Ate All Depay's Falco Pruischer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 28th minute of play. Bernard Kolano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 30th minute of play forced Who Ate All Depay's goalkeeper Falco Pruischer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Falco Pruischer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Falco Pruischer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 38th minute of play forced Who Ate All Depay's goalkeeper Falco Pruischer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Who Ate All Depay's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Falco Pruischer came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bernard Kolano made a kick off. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernard Kolano's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernard Kolano in the 57th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute, Alex Volponi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Who Ate All Depay made a substitution. Jeremie Frimpong replaced Jan Dirks. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Who Ate All Depay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Volponi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 67 played minutes Who Ate All Depay got a freekick which was hit by Tor-Egil Gjertsen. Who Ate All Depay's Falco Pruischer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Who Ate All Depay from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Falco Pruischer made a huge save. The Who Ate All Depay fans' excitement grew in the 91st match minute when Who Ate All Depay's Roel Ravenbergen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Volponi in the 94th minute of play. The Who Ate All Depay players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
