FC Partizan's Georgi Benkovski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save FC Partizan from getting a goal against them. In the 44th match minute, FC Partizan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dobri Kolchakov to maneuver through the defense.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Seco to make the kick off. Uruguay's Francisco Seco got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Partizan eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
