With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Roque Claus tried to sneak it across the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Lanzenkirchen's Roque Claus sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roque Claus got free with Julio Vera in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Karl-Åke Brummer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Lanzenkirchen's Roque Claus slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julio Vera. That made the score 1-0 after 20 minutes of play. Karl-Åke Brummer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 25th minute of the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roque Claus, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Primitivo Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roque Claus got free with Julio Vera in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karl-Åke Brummer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 44thth minute of the game Roque Claus who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Karl-Åke Brummer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Lucjan Bejger came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Lanzenkirchen's zone, Luis Andino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karl-Åke Brummer came out of the goal and Luis Andino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucjan Bejger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 76 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Karl-Åke Brummer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 80th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute of the match Holger Häfeli shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roque Claus in the 83rd minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Lanzenkirchen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolai Nowak didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Lanzenkirchen's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karl-Åke Brummer came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A well-hit corner resulted in Jakub Kornaszewski heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
