Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Villarreal Melon kicked off to start the match. A collision led to Deportivo Cuenca getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Ataulfo Ordas hit a great ball. After 12 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Villarreal Melon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Villarreal Melon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ximeno Olmos went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Deportivo Cuenca's Heros Viana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Cuenca from getting a goal against them. In the 19th minute, Ataulfo Ordas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Villarreal Melon struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Cuenca. Omar Galo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Flavio Echart hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After 28 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Ximeno Olmos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Cuenca's supporters rose to their feet, but Ximeno Olmos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eliseo Noboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Deportivo Cuenca's Heros Viana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Cuenca from getting a goal against them. In the 41st minute Villarreal Melon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Galo came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 48th minute, Omar Galo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. After 53 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. Villarreal Melon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ximeno Olmos went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. In the 61st minute, Eliseo Noboa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 顾迪斐 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute, Villarreal Melon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Villarreal Melon was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 73rd minute. Deportivo Cuenca's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Flavio Echart hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Deportivo Cuenca's Heros Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 76th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Costa Rica's Efrain Moruga seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Efrain Moruga the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Costa Rica protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Efrain Moruga had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 78th minute, one of Costa Rica:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Costa Rica. The excitement rose when Deportivo Cuenca's Ximeno Olmos after 82 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Costa Rica's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 0-6. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. If Ximeno Olmos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Mario Coca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eliseo Noboa might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Heros Viana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Noboa ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 97th minute, Juan Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Deportivo Cuenca played a much better game than Costa Rica and deserved their victory. The Costa Rica players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
