A nice corner shot did that Nicolae Hizo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Gigel Tilea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Gigel Tilea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Academia Rio getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Alex Nicolae hit a great ball. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Academia Rio.
