With his leg Jonathan Ferrant managed to avoid a goal in the 5thth minute, when Lokomotiv Plovdiv's Tolis Lazaridis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the match clock showed 7 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Tolis Lazaridis sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. In the 14th minute of the game Nedko Telbizov made a throw-in which Neycho Loboshki played forward. When Camilo Gaos fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Camilo Gaos a yellow card for diving instead. After 15 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tolis Lazaridis in the 15th minute. In the 18th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Violet Skerlev went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of Lokomotiv Plovdiv booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. 3-0 came in the 23rd minute when Ivelin Rasolkov all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. 27 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Tolis Lazaridis came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tolis Lazaridis in the 32nd minute of play. After having played for 34 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tolis Lazaridis in the 42nd minute of play. Neycho Loboshki hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tolis Lazaridis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Tolis Lazaridis came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nedko Telbizov hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Biser Mihailov having to make a save. In the 63rd minute, Tolis Lazaridis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. 68 minutes into the game, Lokomotiv Plovdiv's Violet Skerlev nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. 70 minutes into the match, Lokomotiv Plovdiv's goalkeeper Biser Mihailov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Biser Mihailov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Lokomotiv Plovdiv's Tolis Lazaridis. But to his dismay, Tolis Lazaridis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tolis Lazaridis, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. After 89 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Violet Skerlev in the 91st minute of the match. In the 92nd minute Lokomotiv Plovdiv were awarded a corner. Ivelin Rasolkov went to the cornerflag to take it. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. In the 96th minute of the match Ivelin Rasolkov shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
