In the 5th minute, U.P. Gavellese's Alessio Volta dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Julio Vera stood somewhat misplaced when Alessio Volta came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 7 minute. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Alessio Volta sent off a good shot on target. In the 12th minute U.P. Gavellese were awarded a corner. Elpidio Macias went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led U.P. Gavellese's Alessio Volta to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Julio Vera stood somewhat misplaced when Alessio Volta came free in front of goal and shot 3-0 to the left of him in the 13 minute. Alessio Volta who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 16thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Alessio Volta's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 38th minute. Gavellese's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alessio Volta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Macias in the 54th minute of the match. With a little luck, U.P. Gavellese's Bruno Mazza got control of the ball when Luis Andino tried to sneak it across the goal line. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by U.P. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elpidio Macias in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After 86 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. U.P. Gavellese's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
