To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Didi Tróia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute of play. ContraVersão's Elias Batista got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Elias Batista sent off a good shot on target. Didi Tróia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 19 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Didi Tróia was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 24th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Didi Tróia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Pedro Luís Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 38 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Patrick Salkvist who took care of the corner kick. ContraVersão's Didi Tróia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 40th minute of play. Elias Batista succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 43rd playminute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. In the 54thth minute of the game Pedro Luís Batista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 55 minutes into the match, ContraVersão's goalkeeper Didi Tróia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. With a little luck, ContraVersão's Didi Tróia got control of the ball when Agustín Saelices tried to sneak it across the goal line. Didi Tróia made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. Didi Tróia made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. ContraVersão's Didi Tróia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save ContraVersão from getting a goal against them. A collision led to ContraVersão getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Gualter Quirino hit a great ball. 92 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Didi Tróia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
