After taking down the ball on Venezuela's corner Joshua Secada fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Astor Mederi quite easily take care of the ball. 31 minutes into the game, Dario Ermano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Venezuela's Patricio Costa in the 39th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Astor Mederi was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Hasenkamp through an amazing save. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Cesar Godoy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Cesar Godoy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Guillermo Mariano fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Guillermo Mariano a yellow card for diving instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonathan Venegas during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee gave Hasenkamp a penalty, 47 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ryszard Dudzik, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Dario Ermano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 56th minute, Hasenkamp's Dario Ermano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. Astor Mederi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 63rd minute of the match. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 68th minute, Cesar Godoy reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. The goal made the score 1-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 71st minute of play forced Hasenkamp's goalkeeper Astor Mederi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Astor Mederi having to interfere. In the 83rd match minute, Hasenkamp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Romero to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hasenkamp's goalkeeper Astor Mederi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Astor Mederi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 91st minute of play. When Patricio Costa was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 95 minutes had been played.
