Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roch Orszak having to interfere. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roch Orszak having to interfere. In the 19th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roch Orszak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nando Gerber kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. The supporters of Esporte Clube Pilar booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Esporte Clube Pilar's goalkeeper Roch Orszak, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Roch Orszak despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Roch Orszak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 29th minute of the match. Cícero Braga kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube Pilar's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Roch Orszak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esporte Clube Pilar's Roch Orszak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play. Claudinho Ramalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roch Orszak. Roch Orszak dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After 45 played minutes Esporte Clube Pilar got a freekick which was hit by Yan Zonta. 47 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roch Orszak. Esporte Clube Pilar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. 57 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roch Orszak made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Esporte Clube Pilar's Walmyr Neto was substituted for Yan Zonta. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roch Orszak made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 68th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Esporte Clube Pilar's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Cícero Braga hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Esporte Clube Pilar's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roch Orszak came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 78 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube Pilar's goalkeeper Roch Orszak had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. After 80 played minutes Esporte Clube Pilar got a freekick which was hit by Raul Moura. In the 83rd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Roch Orszak in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roch Orszak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmyr Neto in the 90th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmyr Neto in the 92nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bautista Quintero in the 96th minute of play. With a little luck, Esporte Clube Pilar's Roch Orszak got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line.
