Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Guto Jacinto made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Guto Jacinto in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute. Guto Jacinto made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. AFC Cherries's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Cristian Sancho 28 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Cuenca in the 40th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Luciano Cuenca ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 44 minutes into the match, Vít Ambros notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kaj Låsberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guto Jacinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after AFC Cherries's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner led Ecuador's Luis Andino to fire away a dangerous shot which Guto Jacinto despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 63rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guto Jacinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Godfredo Barroso hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, AFC Cherries's Zeki Engintalay got a free kick in the 70th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
