In the 25th minute, 中职联-上海申花's 胡乐 dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guillermo Mariano during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jonathan Ferrant went to the wrong direction when 石桦然 was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Cristoforo Proietto came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 胡乐 could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. In the 47th minute, 秦迪鸿 ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off.
