Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Húsares's Florencio Ferran started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fabio Quintyn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 8th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, Húsares's Florencio Ferran sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 12th minute Húsares were awarded a corner. Ubaldo Kismi went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ecuador's goalie and right to Tomás Chinto. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ecuador's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After a rather tough play, Húsares's Reginaldo Dias got a free kick in the 15th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Húsares's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Fabio Quintyn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The corner ended in Ubaldo Kismi almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. After 23 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ecuador! In the 29th minute Florencio Ferran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Húsares fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when Húsares's Florencio Ferran looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florencio Ferran in the 33rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florencio Ferran, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cristian Sancho to make the kick off. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florencio Ferran, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Florencio Ferran kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Chinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florencio Ferran in the 70th minute of play. In the 72nd minute, Florencio Ferran made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. Húsares made a substitution. Carlos Miliano replaced Josué Vargas. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teobaldo Ibon, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Teobaldo Ibon's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Teobaldo Ibon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Teobaldo Ibon scored 6-1 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The Húsares support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
